Freeman Junior Johnson age 84 passed away March 24, 2015 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born May 9, 1930 in Counce, TN the son of the late Lee and Gracie Johnson. He attended schools in Hardin County. Mr. Johnson worked as a deck hand for Federal Barge Lines for many years retiring in mid-70’s. He worked at Murray Guard and later for Chester County Landfill Convenience Center. He was a member of the AFLCIO.
Mr. Johnson is survived by two daughters, Virginia Mosier and Barbara Johnson both of Henderson and three sons, Robert Johnson of Horse Cave, KY, Sterling Johnson and Rick Johnson both of Henderson; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren and one brother, Bob Johnson of Iuka, MS.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Johnson and a son, Michael Johnson and a sister, Mary Ann Rickman.
Funeral services will be 3 PM Thursday March 26, 2015, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel with Larry Burns officiating and burial will follow in Big Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Chapel 6 PM until 8 PM on Wednesday.
