THE SHOALS-The Shoals Democratic Club announces that Voter Registration and Voter ID services will be held at the St. Luke United Methodist Church, 300 E.17th Street, Sheffield, AL 35660 on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Members of the Colbert County Board of Registers will also be there to provide updated, free photo identification for voters and answer questions. Any citizen, no matter what county they live in, is welcome to take advantage of this opportunity.
Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen has been purging voters from the rolls if they originally registered without a photo ID, even those who have been voting consistently for decades. This event will assist those purged voters to have their voting status reinstated and to provide a Photo Voter ID, especially those who do not have a current driver’s license. Volunteers will be there to assist in confirming voter status.
Regardless of how and when you registered to vote, check and make sure your voter registration status is listed as “Active” at myinfo.alabamavotes.gov/
