Fredia Jane Pounders, 93, of Decatur, GA, passed away Wednesday May 14, 2025. Fredia was born in Mount Hope, AL and lived most of her life in Tuscumbia, AL. She was a member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at Colbert Memorial Gardens Monday, May 19, 2025 at 11 a.m. Jerry Crowden will be officiating.
Fredia was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Pounders; son, Steve Pounders; parents, W.B. Houston and Anna Mae Houston; sister, Eulene Thomason; and brothers, Grady Houston and Billy Houston.
Fredia is survived by her son, Jeff Pounders; sisters, Ruby Lawler and Jean Linville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
