Fred ProsserFrederic Lynn Prosser, Jr., 84 of Arab passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026, at his residence. He was born September 12, 1941, in Madison County the son of Frederic Lynn Prosser and Doris Virginia Bowden Prosser. He served his country with honor and courage in the US Air Force and retired from Ajax-TOCCO. He lived a life rooted deeply in his faith, his greatest love was the Lord, and he devoted himself to Union Hill First Congregational Methodist Church where he served faithfully for many years. Throughout his life, he treasured his church family and the simple joys they shared, including vacation Bible school, bowling, coaching softball and baseball, playing golf, and mowing his yard.

Fred is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Stewart Prosser; son; Dr. Jay Prosser; daughter, Jennifer Prosser Jarman (Donald); grandchildren: Riley Garrett, Madie Garrett, Hunter Prosser, Kylan Prosser, Selina Prosser and Maria Prosser; sister-in-law, Blenda Prosser; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Frederic and Doris Prosser; brother: Mike Prosser.

Funeral Service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Union Hill First Congregational Methodist Church with Brother Chris Claborn officiating. The burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Union Hill F.C.M. Church and also on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Pallbearers: Andrew Walker, Brian Conkle, Michael Hardin, Riley Garrett, Elton Haymon and Steven Hardin.

Because his greatest joy was serving the Lord and supporting his church family, he requested that no flowers be sent. Instead, memorial gifts may be made to the Union Hill F.C.M. Special Needs or Youth Fund, your home church or your favorite charity.
