Frede Mae Betterton Simms, 78, of Hazel Green, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023.
Mrs. Simms was a native of Birmingham, AL and a resident of Madison County for around 60 years. She was a member of Plainview Church of Christ.
She was survived by her husband, Gary Eugene Simms; two sons, James C. Simms and John Simms (Marcel); one brother, Erby Wayne Betterton; three grandchildren: Joey Blake Simms, Kasi Ellen Brumlow and Tyler James Simms; three great-grandchildren: Ayaye Simms, Sutton Simms, and Paxton Simms; and one, sister-in-law Sharon Cutshall.
Mrs. Simms was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ima Betterton; brothers, Joe Betterton and Preston Betterton; and niece, Tiffany Betterton.
Visitation will be Friday, August 11th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home. Chapel service will be Saturday, August 12th at 2:00 PM with Davey Garner officiating, followed by burial in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
