Freda Mae Smith departed this life on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at the age of 58 years, 8 months, 24 days.

Freda Mae Cook was born June 17, 1954, in Hardin County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Cecil Earl and Ruth Easley Cook. On October 23, 1970, she was united in marriage to James Carl Smith, who survives.

Freda had been a seamstress for Garan Manufacturing and Savannah Manufacturing. She attended Living Stone Church in Adamsville, Tennessee. Freda loved crafts and crocheting, being with her family and friends, and taking care of her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her husband of almost 42 years, James Carl Smith of Savannah, Tennessee; son Jamie Smith and wife Lori of Savannah, Tennessee; brothers, Freddy Cook of Savannah, Tennessee, Calvin Cook Jackson, Tennessee and Bobby Cook of Savannah, Tennessee; sisters, Lesia Arnold and Rhonda Cook both of Savannah, Tennessee; special niece, Cecile Bain; special nephew, Christopher Cook; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jason Carl Smith.
