Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”.

On Wednesday November 27, 2024, our beloved mom, “Ninney”, and friend, Freda Kay Childers, departed her earthly home at her residence surrounded by loved ones.

Graveside service honoring Ms. Freda’s life will be held in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery at 1 PM on Saturday November 30, 2024.

Born November 1, 1951, in Ripley, Mississippi, Ms. Freda was the daughter of the late Alfred Handy and Ima Lee Farrow Dees. She was a 1969 graduate of Ripley High School and was a valued City Clerk with Tippah County’s, Ripley City Hall for 46 years until her retirement.

A devoted Christian and faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Ms. Freda was a Proverbs 31 Lady, who taught Sunday school, spent countless hours sewing various items with the Lady’s Sewing Group, which they donated to Operation Christmas Child and other ministries, and helping others any and every opportunity she had. Although she was quite feisty and never sugar coated much, her patience was second to none, always having her door open and her home full of love, as she found most joy being there, especially outside taken care of her chickens. She believed in God and family first, loved surrounding herself by those she loved, and her greatest fulfillment was being the best, “Ninney” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ms. Freda’s warm smile, twinkle in her eye, and a fun sense of humor will be missed by all and her loving family and large circle of friends will continue to share the stories and cherish the memories made with such a wonderful lady whose legacy will live on in all the hearts of those she touched most.

Those left to carry on her legacy include on daughter, Amy Nance (Michael), one son, Stephen Childers (Pattie), six grandchildren, Laura Bailey Nance, Ethan Nance (Alli), Aleigha Nance, Shannon Benefield (Andrew), Ryan Childers, and Bently Bridges, and two great grandchildren, Elize and Eli Simmons.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda Luna and Renae Kelly, and her twin grandchildren, Jacob and Jarrett Nance.
