Graveside funeral services for Mr. Fred Williams, age 86, of Ashland, were held Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the Ashland City Cemetery with Pastor Rusty Craig, Pastor Matthew Williams and Ben Harris officiating.

Mr. Williams was born in Cottondale, Florida, after high school he joined the U.S. Army and served for two years. He was living in Pensacola, Florida when he met the love of his life, Janice Wellborn who soon became his wife of over 63 years. Fred worked in construction but soon began his own business known as Williams Upholstery. In 1975 he moved his family to Clay County and continued his business until three years ago. He had a love for fishing, had worked in the Street Ministry and Jail Ministry while in Florida and also here in Clay County. He especially loved to share scripture with all he came in contact with. He was also a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Ashland.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Janice Wellborn; one daughter: Maurine Harris (Donald), and one son Jeff Williams (Jimmie Nell), all of Ashland; one sister; Robbie Hill, of Cottondale, FL; one brother: Frank Williams, of Port. St. Joe, FL;
eight grandchildren, and twenty eight great-grandchildren plus a large extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Joe Dyer Williams and Annie Rebecca Williams, four brothers, and five sisters.

Pallbearers were: Andrew Harris, Adam Harris, Ben Harris, Matthew Williams, Josh Green, and Austin Harris.
