Mr. Fred Ruth Winkles, 86, of Prospect died July 14, 2018, at his home. He was born in Huntsville, Al. on July 12, 1932.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Bethel Masonic Lodge No. 194, served 14 years in the United States Air Force, a retired maintenance electrician at Dunlop Tire Corp., and an avid wood carver.
Visitation will be at Mt. Moriah CP Church on Saturday, July 21st from 10:00am until 12:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12:00pm.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marcus Marvin and Virgie Mae Eakes Winkles, Son Ernest Lee (Buddy) Winkles, grand-daughter, Stephanie Ann Winkles, brothers, William Russell Winkles, Ernest Lee Winkles, Thomas Melvin Winkles, Marcus Ray Winkles, Carl Nelson Winkles, Jackie Miller Winkles, Troy Luke winkles and half-brothers Charlie Winkles and James Winkles and two half-sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Florence (Flo) Vraspir Miner Winkles of Prospect, Sons, Robert Marvin Winkles and wife Joyce of Prospect, Kenneth Ray Winkles and wife Yvonne of Union Grove, AL., daughter, Pamela Elizabeth Crowe and husband Rickey of Somerville, AL., step-sons, William Ivan (Bill) Miner, Sr. of Panama City Beach, FL, Mark Robert Miner and wife Sonya of Readyville, TN, step-daughter, Diane Marie Schroer and husband Jeff of Jacksonville, FL., brother, Joseph Pierce (Pete) Winkles of Hazel Green, AL., brother-in-law, James B. Vraspir of Minnetonka, MN and 4 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
