Fred Hughes Rains, age 83, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away on May 30, 2026.Fred was born on October 12, 1942, in Alabama. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Fred was a wonderful man and a pillar of the community who never met a stranger. He loved everyone he encountered and was known for his kindness, patience, generosity, and willingness to help others. He enjoyed spending time with his family and leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Moore Rains; his children, Hugh Rains (Lillian) and Lesa Rains Munoz (Mario); grandchildren, Christian Rains, Connor Bell (Heather), Caleb Harper, Tomas Munoz, Mario Munoz, Marceliano Munoz, and Armando Munoz; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Tommie Townsend, Patsy Walley, Jo Foster, James Rains, June Finley, and Ray Hilsman; special cousin, John Griffin; and a host of extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gurley Hughes Rains (Flo) and Lucille McClendon Rains; and his daughter, Stephanie Rains Harper.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Adams Brown Service Chapel with Bro. Stacey Morton officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Corbinville Methodist Church. Adams Brown Service Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
