Fred Hubert Lanier, aged 62, of Elkmont, passed away on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital. Born on May 22nd, 1962, in Athens, Fred was the son of Wilson Lanier and Birdie Marie Hill Lanier.
Mr. Lanier is survived by his children Sarah Lanier (Caleb Carter), Randy Lanier, and Rebecca Lanier; grandchildren Braiden Carter and Riley Carter; niece Lisa Andrews; and nephew Jeano Alexander.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers David Lanier and Doug Lanier.
Funeral services to honor Fred’s life will be held on Sunday, March 9th, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, which will take place from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the same location. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery.
Fred was a man of simple joys, with a profound love for fishing and a deep affection for his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. His presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Fred’s life was a testament to the enduring bonds of family and friendship, and his memory will be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
