Fred Ellis Kirchner – Obituary

Fred Ellis Kirchner, 71, passed away Monday, Oct. 2, 2017. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, from noon-2 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 2 p.m. Will Harrison, Kenneth Davis, and Brian Giselbach will be officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. He attended Freed Hardeman College and the University of North Alabama. He served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of Wood Avenue Church of Christ where he previously served as a deacon. Fred loved God and his family. He enjoyed working hard, mission work, sharing his knowledge, and adventures of all kinds.

Mr. Kirchner was preceded in death by his parents, George Edward Kirchner and Josephine Kimbrough Kirchner.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Kirchner; daughters, Kimberly Coe and Melanie Harrison (Trey); brother, Tim Kirchner (Judy); sisters, Mary Rose Wisdom (Johnny) and Lisa Briggs (Eric); grandchildren, Katelyn Coe Benitez, Will Harrison, Price Coe Jr. and Addie Williams; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Bacon, Price Coe Jr., Will Harrison, Tim Kirchner, Johnny Grissom, Arvil Miles, Ben Rutland, and Tyler Williams.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wood Avenue Church of Christ or Mars Hill Bible School.
