Franklin Darby Hampton II, 68, of Harvest, Alabama passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, in Huntsville, Alabama.
He was born on September 4, 1958, in Madison County, Alabama to Franklin Darby Hampton and Gertie Mae Locke Hampton.
Franklin lived all his life in Madison County, Alabama. He spent his life bringing light into the world, both literally and figuratively. As a dedicated electrician for over 40 years, he was known for his exceptional work ethic, mastery of his trade, and the integrity he brought to every job site.
He was an avid, die-hard fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and could always be found cheering on his team on Saturdays. His Sundays were reserved for NASCAR, as he rarely missed the excitement of race day. When he wasn’t pulling for his favorite drivers or the Tide, Franklin found his true peace on the water. An enthusiastic fisherman, some of his happiest moments were spent casting a line, enjoying the quiet of nature, and sharing stories by the pond.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents.
Franklin is survived by one sister: Sharmon Vickers, two nieces: Darbi (Brian) Benefield, Brooke (Chris) Hemphill, several great nieces and nephews, as well as best friend and cousin: Terry (Donna) Wales.
A Graveside Service will be held at Tuck Cemetery in Harvest, Alabama beginning at 11:00 AM. Bro. Brent Hawkins will officiate the service.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
