Mr. Frank Michael “Mike” McCarty, 72, died Sunday, September 14, 2025. He was born April 10, 1953 in Tupelo, Mississippi to Paul and Kathleen Stokes McCarty. Mike was a hard worker, employed by KI for sixteen years as a painter and then working the last twenty years for Hillview Farms caring for walking horses and stables. He was a Mason. During his spare time, Mike enjoyed rabbit hunting and bird hunting, but his greatest joy was playing with his grandson. He loved everyone and was loved by everyone who knew him.
Mike married Ernestine “Teenie” Lucas January 28, 1972 and they shared fifty-three and one half years together. He and Teenie were active members of Sherman Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 PM, Wednesday, September 17th, 2025, at Sherman Baptist Church with Bro. Parrish Hartley, Bro. Rob Ray and Bro. Mike Brazil officiating. Private burial will follow at Sherman Cemetery. Visitation will be today (Tuesday) from 5 PM – 8 PM and Wednesday from 1 PM to service time, all at the church. Survivors include Mike’s wife, Teenie McCarty, one son Kyle McCarty, grandson Gunnar McCarty and his sister Kathy Kelly, all of Tupelo. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Kathleen McCarty and two brothers, Robert Dillard and David McCarty.
Pallbearers will be Brian McCarty, Jason McCarty, Wade Lucas, James Brown, John Brown and Kevin Holcomb. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Sherman Baptist Church and Wayne Homes and John Rice.
