Frank Joseph Digesu, Sr., 83, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday. Frank Digesu graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama. His career was highlighted by his involvement in the Saturn V program and missions that put man on the moon. His life was symbolized through his love and devotion to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Digesu and Carmela Schillaci Digesu, and brothers, Fred and Benny Carle Digesu.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Rosemary DiGiorgio Digesu; children, Frank Digesu, Jr., Sam Digesu (Sandy), Diane Osbourn and David Digesu; grandchildren, Blake Head (Morgan), Christopher Digesu, Matthew Digesu, Lauren Digesu, Robert Osbourn, Rosemary Osbourn, Caroline Osbourn, Anthony Digesu, and Joseph Osbourn; and great-grandson, Ethan McMahan.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 7 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, with the funeral mass immediately following at the church. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association.
