Mrs. Frances “Marie” Jones, age 87, passed away at her granddaughter’s home in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee on Tuesday, January 14, 2014.
Marie was born on July 20, 1926 in Columbia, Tennessee to the late William Walter Reaves and the late Sarah Ellen Gambill Reaves. On August 12, 1964 she married Robert W. Jones. She was a member of the South Columbia Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was a childcare provider for over 15 years.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughters: Phyllis Vick of Columbia and Sandra (Richard) Trammell of Baytown, Texas; grandchildren: Tammy M. Holt and Cody Trammell; great-grandchildren: Tiffany Woody, Zachary R. Meade, Ethan Trammell, Rahlyn Trammell; sister-in-law: Mary Reaves; numerous nieces and nephews including 3 special nieces: Sarah Ann (Raymond) Sirles, Minnie Ellen (Charles) Johnson and Mary Ellen Young. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Robert W. Jones; grandson: Robert C. Woody and 8 siblings.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Mt. Pleasant. Entombment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will visit with friends on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
Jay Sterling, Danny Bovee, Danny Foglia, Richard Trammell, Cody Trammell and John Gwaltney will serve as pallbearers.
The family request memorial donations be made to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York.
