Frances Mae Luna Bivins, age 90, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Saturday, February 15, 2025, at NHC Lewisburg.
She was born June 8, 1934, in Fayetteville, Tennessee, to the late Frank Luna, Sr. and Sara Pitts Luna. She retired from the Marshall County School system as a Cafeteria Worker at Marshall County High School. She also volunteered with the Marshall County Meals on Wheels program. She was a member of Church Street Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gardner Bivins; a brother Robert Luna and a sister Mary Sue Luna Barbee.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa (Danny) Bivins Cook; two granddaughters, Misty (David) Beard and Monica (Justin) Blythe; one brother Frank Luna, Jr. all of Lewisburg; eight great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren whom she love unconditionally.
Frances enjoyed cooking and serving others. She also loved growing her garden and then canning and preserving the bounty for her family.
Frances learned hard work at an early age having been born to a sharecropper. She often had to milk cows before catching the bus for school. She worked in the cotton fields long hours and did her homework by a kerosene lamp, all while helping watch her younger siblings.
If you knew Frances, you knew she enjoyed conversations. It didn’t matter where she ran into you, she always wanted to know how you were and what you were doing! Frances was a “Blessing” to all of us and will be missed dearly.
Visitation with the family will be held at London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, Tennessee, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 12:00 pm until the funeral hour.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 1:00 pm from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Berea Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
