Mrs. Frances Mable Sparkman, age 90, of Arab, Alabama, died on Friday, February 14, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Sparkman was born on January 26, 1930 in Matoy, Oklahoma to the late Charles William McKinney and Fannie Mable Nichols McKinney, Frances. After graduation, she chose to extend her education in college, and after one year, she received her LPN license to work for hospitals and nursing homes. Frances had many hobbies including; planting flowers and gardening, lawn care, crocheting, crossword puzzles and dominos, and most of all taking care of her son, who was disabled until his passing. Mrs. Sparkman attended the Truth Church in Arab.
Mrs. Sparkman is survived by her sons, John R. Sparkman, Fred B Sparkman (Cynthia); daughter, Patricia A. Sparkman; brother, Connie Earl McKinney; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Shannon Sparkman Sr.; three sons, David Smith, Elmer Shannon Sparkman Jr., and Stephen Wayne Sparkman; six brothers; and three sisters.
A visitation to honor Mrs. Sparkman will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services for Frances will be Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. on February 17, 2020 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Johnson Chapel Cemetery in Danville, Alabama. Stephen Funderburk and Wiley Kitchens officiating.
Pallbearers will include; Ryan Sparkman, Lane Sparkman, Clint King, Dalton King, Mike Poarch, Kevin Poarch and Marshal King
Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
