Frances Geraldine Turner, 92, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the Charleston Place Assisted Living in Fulton. She was born September 24, 1932, to James Buford and Gertrude Gardner Young. She was a lifelong member of the Mantachie First Baptist Church. She helped her mother in her dress shop in her younger years, and dedicated herself to being a home maker for her children. She was an avid reader, especially reading the Bible.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. David “ET” Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Center Star Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Donnie Glenn Turner (Virginia) and David W. Turner (Delois), both of Mantachie; two daughters, Cathy Jo Turner of Mantachie and Karen Pettigo of Tremont; six grandsons, Bro. David “ET” Turner, Donald Mason Turner, Christopher Taylor, James Matthew Turner, Terry Taylor, Jeffrey Grant; two granddaughters, Connie Lee Watson and Annistyn Corbell; three great grandsons, Ian Turner, Alex Corbell, and Camden Corbell; three great granddaughters, Lexi Kate Turner, Riley Turner, and Charlee Reese Turner; several cousins and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by one son, Terry Turner; one son-in-law, Jackie Pettigo; the father of her children, James Edsel Turner; and her parents.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandsons.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from noon until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
