Frances Chloe Dearen entered this world on September 19, 1931. She was born in Hubbertville, Alabama to John Arthur Baker and Lona Lee Baker. She attended Winfield High School and graduated in 1950. After graduating she helped her father run their local family store in Winfield, Alabama. Her high school sweetheart, Hershel Dearen, was drafted into the US Army, and served in the Korean Conflict. While on leave before heading for Korea, Hershel and Chloe decided to get married. They married on December 31, 1950. They celebrated 70 years together, before February of 2021, when Hershel Dearen entered his heavenly home.
Hershel and Chloe had two children, 10 grandchildren, and at the time of her death, Chloe was a great grandmother to 17 great grandchildren. Chloe had such a special way of loving all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She expressed her love through words and action throughout her life. She loved her family deeply and selflessly, and each life she touched will forever feel the effect of her love in their life.
Chloe worked as a bank teller in Memphis, Tennessee, and at Marion County Bank in Hamilton, Alabama until she began working alongside her husband, Hershel, at the State Farm Insurance Agency in Hamilton. Chloe loved people and loved serving the people of Hamilton in her job positions.
Above all, Hershel and Chloe loved their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and were committed to follow Him. Chloe and Hershel were instrumental in starting First Assembly of God in Hamilton. The church began in 1967 in their living room. Hershel and Chloe served in their church in many capacities over the years, and dearly loved their church family. They always loved and supported their pastors and families. Almost every Sunday the pastor and his family would be gathered around the table at the Dearen home eating a roast dinner prepared by Chloe. It is no surprise that there are two pastors in their family today.
Chloe entered her heavenly home on January the 8th, 2024 at 6:30 am, with her children by her side. She will be remembered for her love for God, her loving heart and her kindness to all who knew her. Her children will rise and call her blessed.
