HARTSELLE-The Sheriff’s Department in Morgan county executed a search warrant for drugs and drug use at an address in Hartselle on February 26th. Here is how Sheriff Ana Franklin describes the event:
“On February 26th, 2014, Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents and Hartselle Police executed a narcotics search warrant at 417 Pearl St. in Hartselle. Agents had conducted a several month long investigation on the residence. Agents had received several complaints about meth use and high traffic coming from the residence.

On Wednesday, agents observed several vehicles coming and going from the residence. Hartselle Police stopped a vehicle leaving the residence and discovered methamphetamine. Agents went to the residence and secured it for a search warrant. Judge Howell signed a search warrant. Agents executed the search warrant and discovered Jason Weeks, 34, Jimmy Key,44, Patrick Barnett, 24, and Lewis Montgomery,18, at the residence. There was also a female with several children in the residence. Agents search the home and discovered a quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the home. Agents believe that the residence was a drop off point for pseudoephedrine pills. The pills would be taken somewhere else to be cooked into methamphetamine and then the finished meth would come back to the residence.
Agents charged Jason Weeks with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth). Jimmy Key was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Hydrocodone). Lewis Montgomery was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth). Patrick Barnett was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd. The female in the residence was not charged. The children were sent to a relative’s residence.
All subjects were taken to the Morgan County Jail and booked. Bonds are $2,500.00 for each subject.”
