Former Madison Pediatrician Jailed On Alleged Sexual Abuse Charges

MADISON– After a joint investigation Dr. James D. Cartwright has been indicted on three counts of Sexual Abuse 1st Degree and one count of Attempted Sexual Abuse from incidents taking place in 2014.

The Madison Police Department, Limestone County Department of Human Resources and the Limestone County District Attorney’s Office held the joint investigation.  The  Grand Jury returned the indictment of four counts of Sexual Abuse against Cartwright, a pediatrician who had a practice in Madison until June of 2014.

Agents with the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force arrested Cartwright in Phenix City and have returned him to the Limestone County Jail where he will be held pending a bond hearing.
