Muscle Shoals, Alabama – Recently Northwest Shoals Community College (NWSCC) hosted a graduation ceremony at the NWSCC Hospitality House. The ceremony was attended by family and friends of the first graduating class from the FOOD Team (Food Occupational Opportunity Development) Enrichment and Mentoring program. The FOOD Team program is a highly acclaimed and successful 16-week program to teach the fundamentals of food service in preparation for a career in a culinary environment. The course is a partnership between the Shoals Entrepreneurial Center’s Culinary Complex and Northwest Shoals Community College.
The FOOD Team classes were taught by well-known Chef Kevin Kilburn. Chef Kilburn stated previously that the course was a “very intense mentoring program and when completed the students would have a set of skills that is a real asset in a professional culinary environment.”
Shoals Entrepreneurial Center Executive Director Giles McDaniel also congratulated the students on their success and encouraged them to continue their culinary education.
After the ceremony, a reception was held for the attendees.
