Fonzie Marie Green Long stepped into glory on June 19, 2026 at the age of 88. She was born on February 17, 1938 in Clinchmore, Tennessee to Millard and Rosa Green. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Robert E Long Sr, sons Robert E Long Jr (Nancy), Mark Long (Frances), daughters Rosemarie Long Presnall (Larry), Robin Long Miller (Ronnie) and Roberta Long; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. After Robert retired from the United States Navy in 1974, they settled in Huntsville, AL. Fonzie loved tending to her flower beds, sewing, making ceramics, and cooking (the most amazing pancakes). She was very active in her church, where she could be found shouting and praising God with renditions of Beulah Land and God on the Mountain. She will be remembered for her quick wit, warm hearted nature and relentless love for Jesus Christ.
A celebration of life will be held at Brownsboro Baptist Church at 2pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
