Mr. Fonnie “Nick” Albright Carter, age 87, of McMinnville, TN, died Monday, September 05, 2022 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born September 13, 1934, in McMinnville, TN, was a retired automotive specialist with General Motors in Muncie, Indiana, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by parents John Benton and Della Mae Harris Carter, wives Wanda Reynolds Carter and Clata Carter, son Nicholas Clay Carter, brother John Brown Carter, and sisters Alvaretta George, Carolyn June McCormick, Dora K. Vanderpool, Dortha Jean Womack, and Janice Sue Doak.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law John and Rebecca Carter, daughter Geneva Mae Carter, sister Maxie Louise Gordy, brother Albert Carter, and grandchildren Emily Carter, Ashley Carter, Cody Carter, and Chantel Carter.
Graveside service and interment will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 09, 2022, at Mt. Holly Cemetery in Smithville, TN. Tom Fittis will officiate. The Carter Family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Noon at McMinnville Funeral Home.
