Floyd Ray Grissett, 83 of Arab, the Grassy Community, passed away to be with his Lord and Savior Friday December 15, 2017 after a short, but courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Grissett was born August 29, 1934 in Opp Alabama to John William Lewis Grissett and Lois Harrell. He married the love of his life Patricia D. McLeod and they had just recently celebrated their sixty-third wedding anniversary together on November 13, 2017. Most of their years together were spent in Arab raising their children. Mr. Grissett worked 37 plus years with NASA in Huntsville. After his retirement he and Pat shared their time between their home in Orange Beach and their home in Opp. They enjoyed traveling, camping and being with friends during retirement years.
Mr. Grissett was a member of Bluesprings Baptist Church in Opp.
He is survived by his wife: Patricia Dale Grissett; his children and in-laws: Tim Grissett and Penny, Beverly Davis and Kaye Dean and Jeff; his grandchildren: John, Matthew, Courtney, Ashleigh, Ethan, Sam and Lydia; great grandchildren: Justin, Riley, Wyatt, Emma and Max. He was preceded in death by his parents: John William Lewis and Lois Harrell Grissett.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday December 18, 2017 at Arab First United Methodist Church with Rev: Nicky James and Rev: Steve West, officiating. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
