Funeral services for Mr. Floyd Atkins Johnson, age 87, are scheduled for 2:30 PM, Sunday, February 26, 2017 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Johnson passed away early Thursday in Lexington. He was born October 3, 1929 in Henderson County to the late Birthel and Lorene Wadley Johnson. He was served 4 years in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, was a retired regional supervisor for the Interstate Commerce Commission in Atlanta, Georgia and later a consultant for Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington and loved golf and playing rook. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jean Hatchett Johnson; two sons, William F. Johnson (Meeta) and Russell K. Johnson; and two grandsons, Trevor and Kyle Johnson. He was preceded in death by one son, Randall Alan Johnson and a brother, Larry Johnson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Relay for Life or Chapel Hill Cemetery.
