Mrs. Flossie Louise McMurry, 88, of Hartselle, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 at Summerford Nursing Home.
Funeral service was Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mark Posey officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Her body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, near Eva. Visitation was Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born Wednesday, Aug. 3, 1927, in Cullman County to John and Lonie Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.J. McMurry; and four brothers, Tommie, Joe B., David “Red”, and Blake Moore; and a granddaughter, Kasey Long.
Survivors include two sons, Larry McMurry, Decatur and David McMurry (Kelly), Hartselle; one daughter, Linda Eddy, Hartselle; four grandchildren, Amy Henderson, (Kyle),
Michelle Eddy, Michael McMurry, and Keith Long; one sister, Theo Vincent, Oden Ridge; and stepson, Bobby McMurry (Janice) and his children, Bobby Jr. (Mallory), Cynthia Wilhite (Ronnie), Kandy Goodno (Jason), and a host of stepgrandchildren.
Mrs. McMurry worked 44 hard dedicated years at the Goodyear Mill in Decatur before her retirement in 1989 at the age of 62. She was one of God’s (Special People), a loving mother and grandmother. Always willing and eager to help any family member in need, sickness or death. She loved to play bingo. She had many friends at the various bingo’s and loved them all. The family would like to thank a very special bingo and card player, Judy Rider.

Pallbearers will be Michael McMurry, Scott Henry, Kyle Henderson, Paul Wiley, Gary Norwood and Roger McMurry.
