Florine K. Rasch, 96, of Auburn, AL, formerly of Florence, passed away July 20, 2015 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL. She was a member of the Redeemer Presbyterian Church of Florence, Treasurer of the Salvation Army of Florence, Historical Society Board, Friends of the Library, began her career in Florence as a Chemist with TVA and then taught at the University of North Alabama for thirty-five years and retired as the head of the Home Economics Department; she also served on numerous other Civic Boards and Committees.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 5 – 6:30 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. Graveside services will be private with the Rev. Sam Hardie, III officiating.
Mrs. Rasch was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Rasch; parents, one sister and two brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Lyle of Auburn, AL son, Charles Rasch , Jr. (Teresa) of Florence; sister, Lucille Spencer of Gilmer, TX,; brother, James Knotts of Flomenton, AL; sister, Vermey Green of Russellville, AL; grandchildren, Win Lyle (Catherine) of Auburn, AL, Natalie Dickerson (Doug) of Auburn, AL, Allison Sanda (Mark) of Birmingham, Ashley Anderson (Louis) of Birmingham, Andrew Rasch of Auburn, AL; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
