Florence Woman Found Dead After Police Conduct Welfare Check

FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department issued a statement on the death of a Florence woman:

“On July 29, 2022, at approximately 2 PM, officers responded to 315 Trade Street to check the welfare of the resident, Regina Crosslin. 

Mrs. Crosslin had not been heard from by the complainant for several months.  Officers located the resident’s son, Richard Crosslin and a female, Amanda Phillips at the residence.  Amanda Phillips attempted to prevent officers from entering the residence.  Officers were ultimately able to enter the residence and they located the body of Regina Crosslin. 

Mrs. Crosslin appeared to have been deceased for several weeks.  Amanda Phillips was arrested for Obstructing Govermental Operations and Richard Crosslin was arrested for unrelated warrants. The manor of death is undetermined and an autopsy will be conducted.  The case is still under investigation.    

*Phillips and Crosslin are innocent until proven guilty* ”
