FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department released a statement on an arrest that was made on Sunday, July 17 regarding charges of sexual torture:
“On Sunday, July 17, 2016, Florence Police Officers responded to a reported sexual assault that was alleged to have occurred in the 2900 block of Woodard Ave. Officers arrived and found a female victim who reported that she had been beaten and sexually assaulted while being threatened with a firearm. The female sought medical treatment for her injuries and was able to provide information to police investigators. On Monday, July 18, 2016, detectives with the police department executed search warrants at the home of April Lynn Johnson, 30, who resides at 2931 Woodard Ave, Florence. Evidence was collected and following interviews with the victim and suspect, Ms. Johnson was arrested and charged with Sexual Torture and Sexual Abuse 1st. She is currently being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on bond totaling $26,000.00.”
