FLORENCEGovernor Ivey has announced the removal of many mandatory restrictions which were part of the health order set to expire Friday, April 9th at 5:00 pm. The new health order lifting these restrictions will take effect at the time the old health order expires.

The City of Florence has followed Governor Ivey’s guidance since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, and we will continue to follow her guidance at this time. As stated in the Governor’s press conference, the mask requirement is now at the discretion of business owners.  I invite you to respect the decisions of our local business owners as it pertains to their individual requirements for service.  Although masks are no longer required, the Florence City Council members and I strongly encourage the citizens of Florence to continue wearing masks and social distancing, and ask that you act responsibly and with consideration when gathering, especially if you choose to do so in large groups.

With the increase in vaccine eligibility, we are hopeful that the end of the pandemic is near and will soon return to some sort of normalcy. Until then, we can work together to create a more positive environment for our community by considering one another and respecting those with whom we share our beautiful city.
