UPDATE THE SAM PHILLIPS MARKER HAS BEEN FOUND. FLORENCE POLICE SAY THE MARKER HAS BEEN FOUND AND IS UNDERGOING REPAIRS BEFORE BEING REPLACED AT THE MARRIOTT.

FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department seeks the public’s help in locating a historical marker that was stolen from the grounds at the Marriott Hotel.

The theft took place between the dates of July 14 and July 16, 2015.

The marker was erected to honor Shoals native, Sam Phillips and is pictured below.
