FLORENCE-On the afternoon of October 27, 2025, emergency services responded to Hermitage Place Apartments on Hermitage Drive in Florence regarding an unresponsive person.
An eleven-year-old male was found unresponsive in the family’s vehicle parked outside their residence. Employees of the complex began lifesaving measures until emergency services arrived.
Efforts were continued, and the victim was transported to the North Alabama Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
The victim was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.
The victim was enrolled in the Florence City School System. Additional counselors will be available for students at the school.
