FLORENCE-On November 22, 2024, Officers responded to the 200 Block of Meadowcrest Drive to a theft of property complaint. The victim reported that multiple packages valued at over $600 were taken from the residence’s porch after

delivery.
On November 26, 2024, the offender returned and took additional packages from the victim’s porch. Dalton Ray Hayes was identified as a suspect and arrested. At the time of the arrest, Hayes was driving a GPS-equipped vehicle belonging to his employer. The employer cooperated with the investigation and provided location data to detectives.
Detectives connected Hayes to three separate incidents where packages were taken. Hayes is currently confined in the Lauderdale County Detention Center. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
