FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department released a statement concerning the arrest of two suspects who have been charged with Unlawful Sex Acts With A minor:
Malek Taylor
“On December 24th, 2023, officers responded to an address in Florence to take a report on a 13 year old female who had run-away from home around 2:00 AM.
Officers located the female in a vehicle around 3:30 AM. She was accompanied by two 18 year old males from Tennessee.
Jarvan Theus
After an investigation it was determined that sexual acts had occurred and the two males, Jarvan Theus and Malek Taylor traveled across state lines to Florence with the purpose of engaging in unlawful sexual acts.
Jarvan Theus and Malek Taylor, of Ripley, TN, are each being held on a $60,000 bond.
Jarvan Theus and Malek Taylor are innocent until proven guilty.”
