Florence Police Arrest Suspect In Thursday Night Murder

FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department released a statement on Thursday, July 19 concerning the arrest of a suspect in a murder investigation that occurred on Thursday evening:

“Shortly before 9pm on 7/19/18 officers with the Florence Police Department responded to the 100 block of South Nance Street, Florence, AL, in reference to a male who was unresponsive in the driveway of 164 South Nance Street.

When officers arrived they found a 45-year-old white male laying in the driveway bleeding. The male was transported to ECM where he later died from injuries caused by an assault with a sharp object.

Detectives responded to the scene and began working to establish the cause of death, motive, and develop a suspect in the case. Upon speaking with witnesses, Bradley Wade Hill, a 47 y/o white male, was named as a suspect in the case.

Patrol officers located Mr. Hill in Colbert County and transported him to the Florence Police Department for questioning. Following interviews with Mr. Hill and witnesses to the crime he was charged with Murder. Mr. Hill is currently being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center with no bond.

The victim’s name is not being released at this time pending notification of his family. At the time of this release detectives are continuing to work this very active case. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.”
