Damarick King
FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department issued a press release concerning the arrest of a suspect who has been charged with Assault after allegedly cutting a man with some sort of blade:
“On June 22, 2023, at approximately 8:30 AM, officers responded to Helen Keller Hospital to speak to a male that had been cut several times. The male received several staples to close a few wounds. The wounds did not appear life threatening.
The male stated he was contacted by his ex-girlfriend, earlier in the morning, who was being mistreated by Damarick King. She asked him to come get her. He then went to 522 Elder Street, apartment B, in Florence. Upon arrival a physical altercation occurred in the front lawn.
According to the victim, King went inside the apartment and got some sort of blade and returned to the fight cutting the victim several times. The victim then left and drove to Helen Keller Hospital.
Mr. king was taken to the North Alabama Medical Center where he was treated with a minor cut to a finger. He was questioned by detectives and arrested. Damarick King, of Florence, was charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree.
He was transported to the Lauderdale County Detention Center where he was placed on a $2,500 bond.
