FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department issued a press release concerning the arrest of a suspect who has been charged with Breaking and Entering as well as Theft of Property 4th:
“Tuesday morning officers responded to the area of White Oak Ln and Chisholm Road to reports of a male acting suspiciously
around vehicles. Witnesses reported the male was looking into vehicles and pulling on the door handles. Officers made contact with a male fitting the description given. The male was identified as Christopher Pierce, 30 years of age, of Lauderdale County. Pierce had a head wound, which he stated he received the night before. Pierce was transported to NAMC for treatment.
Investigators connected items taken from a victim’s vehicle to Pierce and obtained warrants. While in the hospital, Pierce became irate and caused a scene. Officers attempted to calm him down to no avail. Once he was discharged, officers served the warrant, and Pierce resisted arrest. Officers had to carry him out of the hospital.
Pierce was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle, and Theft of Property 4th. Pierce is being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a $ 3,500 bond.
