FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department issued a statement on the arrest of a suspect who has been charged with Attempted Murder after attacking a man with a machete:
“On June 27, 2021 at approximately 4:30 PM officers responded to The North Alabama Medical Center to a 50-year-old male (Clyde Anderson} who had been stabbed.
Officers learned the incident occurred at 629 Trade Street. Officers established a crime scene and investigators responded.
After a thorough investigation George Weakley Rhodes Jr. was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder. The victim was listed in critical condition.
Rhodes is currently incarcerated at the Lauderdale County Detention Center and being held on a $60,000 bond.”
