“There’s nothing better than live music in the heart of Florence during the summer,” said Bill Jordan, Director of Florence Parks and Recreation. “Whether you’re stopping by on your lunch break or spending the evening with friends and family, this series gives everyone a chance to enjoy great music in a beautiful setting completely free.”

Music in the Park is held at Wilson Park, home to the iconic statue of W.C. Handy, the “Father of the Blues,” who was born in Florence in 1873. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly environment filled with music and community spirit. The May series offers a perfect break during the workday, while the June concerts provide an ideal way to enjoy warm summer nights.

In honor of the America 250 celebration, audiences will enjoy a few patriotic songs during performances.

This concert series is made possible through the support of generous sponsors, including the Florence Parks & Recreation Foundation, Alabama Council on the Arts, Florence-Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, First Metro Bank, and Listerhill Credit Union.
