
Oscar Steven Woods allegedly resisted arrest with violence. He’s in jail.
FLORENCE – He’s cooling his jets in the Florence/Lauderdale Detention Center. Oscar Woods, 30, of Kinnard St. is being held on a $5-thousand bail for his alleged assault yesterday of a Florence Police officer.
According to records, the assault took place late Tuesday afternoon on Washington Street. Police say that there were several small-offense warrants out for Woods. Patrol Officer Luke McIntyre spotted the man and challenged him to give himself up. According to the report, Woods evidently didn’t think that giving himself up was such a good idea and he took off down the sidewalk. McIntyre caught up with him and a conflagration ensurd. Reports indicate that Woods landed a few punches on the officer’s face. That didn’t stop Officer McIntyre who bested Woods and took him into custody.
