TOWN CREEK -The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident near Town Creek that has taken the life of a Florence man and sent one other person to hospital with injuries:
“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 2, has claimed the life of a Florence man. Sean T. Smith, 34, was critically injured when the 2012 Ford Fiesta SE, in which he was a passenger in, was struck by the 2018 Nissan Armada driven by Ashley N. Keelon, 42, of Muscle Shoals. After the initial impact, the Fiesta ran off the roadway and struck a stop sign.
Smith was transported by air to Huntsville hospital for medical treatment, where smith later succumbed to injuries on Friday, July 10. The driver of the Fiesta, Belinda L. Brantley, 38, of Mount Hope was also injured and transported to North Alabama Medical Center for treatment.
The crash occurred on Alabama 157 near the 49 mile-marker, approximately three miles south of Town Creek, in Lawrence County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
