Gary Duane White
FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department released a statement concerning the death of one man that occurred on Friday, July 17 resulting in the arrest of a suspect who has been charged with murder:
“On July 17, 2020, at approximately 10:00 P.M. Florence Police officers responded to 1301 Hermitage Dr; Southern Oaks apartment complex in response to a report of a male that was found unresponsive and was bleeding. Officers arrived with Shoals Ambulance who transported him to North Alabama Medical Center where he later was pronounced deceased. Through the investigation, it was determined that this was a homicide. This remains an active investigation and no further information will be released at this time. Update:
Further investigation on July 17, 2020, identified the homicide victim as Kwame Thomas, a 38-year-old male. It was determined that during an altercation Thomas received lacerations to his body resulting in a large amount of blood loss. Gary Duane White, 03-25-1970, was identified as the individual responsible for causing the death of Thomas. Detectives worked throughout the day, to locate White. At 5:19pm, detectives located White traveling as the passenger of a vehicle, in East Florence. A traffic stop was initiated, and White was taken into custody without incident. Gary Duane White, 03-25-1970, was arrested and charged with Murder. He is currently being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center without a bond.”

We Want Gary Duaine White charges upgraded to capital murder because he took his personal belongings and his work hats and other etcc.. The family is still grieving and gone forever grieve and he will always be missed and love. We want justices and by law everybody at the scene should of been charge because after leaving the crimescene, they did not notify the law. He slaughter him like a dear and that was not right. It ain’t nothing that he can say to justify why he killed him. He ain’t come on to his woman, they thought he had a whole lot of money because he was outside capping like he did and they still didn’t have to killed him. He deserve the death penalty!!!
