Florence Man Arrested After Traffic Stop: Drugs And Cash Recovered

FLORENCE-Around 1:00 am on the  morning of June 6, 2025, FPD Patrol Officers stopped a car driving with no headlights on, near McFarland Park.

While approaching the vehicle, Officers saw the person in the backseat shuffling around frantically. That same person then

tossed something out of the rear window of the vehicle. Officers detained the backseat passenger, later identified as Mark Whipple. The object that was thrown out of the car was then recovered and officers located a sock full of meth (approximately 58g).

Whipple was arrested for Drug Trafficking (Methamphetamine) (13A-12-231), Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (13A-12-260) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd (13A-12-214).

He had a $51,000 bond with other warrants pending once he bonds on the current charges.

The other two occupants of the vehicle were detained and later released without charges.

Mark Whipple is innocent until proven guilty.
