FLORENCE-On February 3, 2025, Florence Police Officers responded to West Mobile Street and North Locust Street at around 8:00pm in regards to a male down in the roadway.
The male was awake but was not responding to anyone at the scene. A witness stated a male, who fled before

Officers arrived, struck the victim in the head from behind and continued to punch him in the face once the victim was on the ground. The victim, a 59-year old male, was flown to the University Alabama-Birmingham (UAB) Hospital where he is still unresponsive.
After further investigation, Fredrick Maurice Ingram, 47, of Florence, Alabama was identified as the suspect in the case.
Ingram was arrested on February 10, 2025 for unrelated charges. Ingram will be served a warrant for one count of Attempted Murder once his other charges have been processed.
Ingram is currently confined at the Lauderdale County Detention Center.
