FLORENCE-Florence Arts and Museums is proud to announce its updated internship program. Since 2018, FAM has seen over 40 high school and college students complete internships in the following areas: collections management; program assistant; administrative assistant; archaeology; digital history; and museum education. Thanks to a generous initial donation to the Dick and Libby Jordan Scholarship Fund in 2025, the department has been pleased to include compensation for internships. This fund was created in honor of the late City of Florence Councilman William D. Jordan, and his wife Libby Jordan, who was Director of Florence Arts and Museums from 2015-2023.
The updated internship program will be based on departmental needs, and internship descriptions will be released on the following dates: April 1 for the Summer Semester; July 1 for the Fall Semester, and December 1 for the Spring Semester. All applications will be posted on the Florence Arts and Museums website. Applicants will be asked to complete an online application, submit a cover letter, and provide a letter of recommendation. One applicant will be selected for each position, and notified by FAM three weeks prior to the start of the internship. Interns will be compensated for their work.
