Florence 2025 Municipal Election Candidates

FLORENCE-City Clerk Bob Leyde has released the official list of qualified candidates for the upcoming Florence Municipal Election, scheduled for Tuesday, August 26, 2025. The ballot will include races for Mayor, six City Council districts, and six Florence City School Board districts.

The following individuals have qualified to run:

Mayor

  • Anthony Britnell
  • Bill Griffin
  • Steve Holt
  • Christian “CJ” McCoy
  • Ricky D. Pickett
  • Billy Ray Simpson
  • Ron Tyler

City Council Candidates

  • District 1: Stephanie Harvey, Kaytrina P. Simmons, Dave M. Smith
  • District 2: Gunner Ford, Jackie Hendrix, River Zurinsky
  • District 3: Andrew Betterton, Alisa Dickson, Cory Richardson
  • District 4: Josh Bowling, Michelle Rupe Eubanks
  • District 5: Brandon Balentine, John Hicks, Jr., Ben Maharrey, Thomas Spence
  • District 6: Chapel King, Jimmy Oliver

Florence City School Board Candidates

  • District 1: Vicky Kirkman
  • District 2: Robert “Ry” Griffin, John Williams
  • District 3: Lynn Sparks, Jennifer Spry
  • District 4: MaLeah Chaney, Robin Thompson, Tom Wissert
  • District 5: Tammie Davis Haddock
  • District 6: Casey Wilburn, Rachel Winston

 

The polls will be open on Election Day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A runoff election, if needed, will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

How Do I Register To Vote? Register to vote online at (https://www.sos.alabama.gov/alabama-votes/voter/register-to-vote) or in person at the Lauderdale County Board of Registrars, located in the courthouse, by Monday, August 11, 2025.

Where Is My Polling Location? An interactive district and polling location map is available on the City’s website at florenceal.org. Residents can enter their address into the search bar to quickly identify their City Council district and polling place.
