Flo Rose Cunningham, 84, of Winfield, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham. She was born September 17, 1933 in Winfield to Baxter and Margie Rose. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Olan Cunningham. Also surviving are her children, Rose Perry (Davis), Sherry Cunningham, Susan Cunningham, Brad Cunningham (Shelly) and Tina Atkinson (Todd). Grandchildren, Maghan Craig (Hal), Shannon Estes, Tyler Estes, Jess Perry, Kris Sce (Joe), Adrian Dickerson (Eric), Trey Cunningham, Olivia Atkinson and Emma Atkinson. Great-grandchildren, Addison, Harper, Ashton, Levi, Conner, Dylan, Ella and Cash and her surviving brother, Bill Rose. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Baxter and Margie Rose and sister, Angie Vickery.
Flo grew up in the Shoals area in addition to Winfield. She graduated from Winfield City High School and Birmingham Business College. She resided with her husband in Auburn and then in Red Bay where they started their family. After raising the five children, Flo became a successful business owner and later worked for the Marion County Board of Registrars.
Family and friends, gardening, and entertaining and all things Auburn were Flo’s passion and delight. She also enjoyed spending time at the lake and she loved the beach. She was an active member of the Modern Literary Club and the Northwest Alabama Auburn Club. Her most recent endeavors included weekly caregivers with the church and Lunch Bunch. She was a longtime member of the Winfield Church of Christ. She loved the Lord with all her might.
Funeral services will be today, April 4th at 5 p.m. from the Winfield Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Winfield City Cemetery with James Wyers and Elijah Fowler officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until service time at the church. Miles Funeral Home of Winfield, directing
