Funeral service for Fleda Stringer Monk, 109, will be Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ben Bates officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Monk died on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Falkville Health Care Center. She was born June 16, 1914, in Texas, to Dan Stringer and Ida Brown Stringer.
She was a homemaker for her family whom she loved with all of her heart and adored spending time with. She loved to crotchet and enjoyed pretty flowers, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and adopted New Center Baptist Church as her own.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Hollis L. Monk, sons: Holland Monk and his wife, Beth, John “Larry” Monk, brothers: Dewitt Stringer, Boyd Stringer and John Bruce Stringer and a sister: Reba Stringer Linthicum.
